Autumn Wedding at Athelhampton
We recently supplied china and flowers for the wedding of Dave and Becky at Athelhampton House. A gorgeous day and a lovely intimate family wedding. Do enjoy these photos – the wedding had a subtle “Alice in Wonderland” twist with bright colours in the flowers and a fabulous cupcake wedding cake with little top hats and teacups on – stunning! Dave and Becky look relaxed and happy in these pictures (thanks both for sharing them with us) – obviously a couple in love!

A Dorset Vintage Wedding
One of the joys of vintage and country weddings is that they lend themselves so beautifully to couples who have their own creative style and the imagination to create a bespoke event.
With a wonderfully relaxed cottage holiday atmosphere, delicious bring and share food from all of the 80-or-so guests, home-made trimmings, herb festooned table-centres and loads of vintage china from Vintage Dorset, DIY weddings don’t come much better than this!
The fabulous celebration of Rowan and Baris was held at Greenwood Grange cottages in Dorchester and caught on film beautifully by the fabulous, quirky photographer Andrea Ellison.
The celebration itself was a lovely informal hand-fastening culminating with a rousing sing-song where all of the guests sang the Proclaimers “I’m Gonna Be” (500 miles) before the eating began. Rowan looked fabulous in a bright red swing dress and Baris turned out sharp as a new pin!
We often get asked how DIY weddings work – when families want to take part in creating the Wedding Feast – making puddings, pavlovas and other delectable treats? This wedding is a great example! ALL of the food for this wedding was brought by the guests and popped onto vintage plates and platters – we didn’t know what was going to happen – but when it did it was AMAZING! Vintage Dorset served tea, wine and kept everything neat and tidy . For the full story check out photographer Andrea’s Blog
We loved how the outside came in!!
What a great day! Check out these extra details pictured by Vintage Dorset. The cheese tier was incredible and what beautiful little cakes!!
