Sabine’s Party

We had a wonderful evening for Sabine’s 60th birthday party. Sue and Nigel’s garden and marquees looked fabulous decorated in pretty floral bunting and with tea lights twinkling all around the vintage china. Sabine had found a wonderful saxophonist who’s playing really made the evening special and our savoury buffet served on gorgeous vintage crockery, with strong tea and a scrummy chocolate cake that Sabine was given as a present all went down an absolute treat.

Picture of Sabine and Amber at the partyHuge thanks to Sabine and her daughter Amber for inviting Vintage Dorset along – we had a fabulous time and also many thanks to all of the people from the South and West Dorset LETS group (trading time, skills and goods locally) who helped Sabine and us on the day and in the run-up to the event.

Here’s  Sabine and Amber shortly after we’d sung happy birthday in both English and German! Then…it was time for tea and cake!

Food for this party was a joint effort between Sabine and Vintage Dorset all served on vintage plates and cake stands. Party wraps on cake stand with flowersWe provided sliced soft flour tortilla wraps made with roasted vegetables and hummus, tomatoes and mozzarella, chicken and pesto and caesar salad together with traditional mini quiches in a variety of flavours, fresh home made dips and salad sticks and delicious square-shaped vol-au-vents with mushroom and stilton, salmon, spinach and spicy sausage. Sabine made beautiful Rye Bread canapes with smoked mackerel, goats cheese, camembert and salmon. MMMMMMmmm!
