Crafty Ideas for Hens

Ok, so you’ve planned the perfect wedding, the honeymoon is booked and the bf has gone off sky-diving for his stag event – so what does a Bride-to-be choose for a girly hen party that doesn’t end up with everyone already worse for wear by 8pm?

We’ve increasingly seen Brides organising a whole day of girly activities for their Hen events – from chocolate truffle making to nail pampering, massage, herbal tea or wine tasting – to our vintage afternoon and mad hatter tea parties! There are a lot of great ways to indulge yourself with your best friends.

Mad Hatter Hen Party

Crafty PartyGetting help organising your activities to ensure your hen party has something unusual and really fun to offer is a must! When we heard about this local firm the Crafty Party Company and the range of ideas they offer for hen parties (and for all sorts of other events) we loved it – and couldn’t wait to share!

Katie Rand, the founder of the Crafty Party Company has hunted down lots of local arts, crafts and creative workshop providers so you can create a bespoke day of hen party activities.

Here’s a sample of the workshops she has on offer ….

Paper decorations: (3 hours, £20 pp). Learn how to make paper teacups, flowers, bows, & wreaths perfect for wedding day decorations or for home. This unique workshop from paper artist Anissa Lee (we’ve featured her wonderful Alice in Wonderland inspired work before) will introduce your friends to incredible paper art!

Favour Making: (2.5 hours £25pp for 8+) Create your own wedding favours to give at your wedding or to pamper yourselves when it’s all over.  You can choose to make & package bath soufflés or bath creamers to give on the big day. Using skin loving oils, natural vegetable butters & a bit of love you can create a beautiful favour. Choose from a range of fragrances, flowers, petals & sparkle including something for the boys. Suitable for younger hens too

Confetti cones and floral bags: (1.5hours £15pp 8+) Natural confetti cones filled with floral buds & petals. Make your own confetti cones from paper embedded with petals and then mix the petals & floral buds of your choice to fill. Or make little scented bud bags to give as favours then we can enjoy a fragrant time mixing the petals, adding a little extra scent and bagging them in organza bags to complement your colour scheme.

If you like the sound of any of these ideas or have another crafty idea you’d like help with then Katie can definitely get you started.
