Natalie and Ben – a Dorset wedding
Some weddings are so intrinsically elegant they are just divine. Vintage Dorset was invited to help Natalie and Benedict with venue dressing for their recent wedding in the lovely Dorset village of Winterborne Zelston. In spite of threats of rain, what a beautiful day it turned into – with heaps of vintage charm!
Natalie had a gorgeous lace wedding dress – perfectly traditional and absolutely stunning.
We used around 140 metres of bunting to clothe the interior of this 90ft marquee. Flower colours included soft apricots and greens so we chose pretty floral bunting to match.
We provided vintage tablecloths for covering tables for the cake, the guest book and to use underneath Natalie’s beautiful place settings. These were old antique keys tied onto luggage tags which included the guests name and the table where they were sitting. Such a great idea!
We also decorated the entrance to the marquee with ribbons, picture frames, paper heart garlands that we made at Vintage Dorset and beautiful glass hearts from local crafts worker Angela Woodhouse of the Art Machine in Dorchester.

Natalie and Ben also used our old typewriter to share the most traditional of poems – Marriage Morning by Tennyson – and to prompt their guests to write in the guest book!

Other elements included ourĀ Hat Saver, wooden directional signs to the wedding, a vintage gazebo for guests venturing outside and bunting for the car-parking areas. We had a fabulous time preparing the venue – and this fabulous couple made the picture complete.
Thank you for ALL your help and making everything look so wonderful – could not have wished for anything more – it really was perfect
Natalie
