Summer Time in England 3rd July

Milton Abbey is one of the most delectable and beautiful vintage spots in Dorset so we were very pleased to hear that the school is hosting the Summertime in England Women’s Institute Flower Festival from Sunday 3rd July to Wednesday 6th.

This is set to be an exceptional treat for those of us who love vintage venues and the glorious english flower displays that the WI is so well known for

- but that isn’t all! Vintage Dorset has been invited to provide vintage china hire for delicious Dorset Cream Teas on Sunday afternoon – available in the marquee adjacent the school and Abbey. Knowing that the WI are the most discerning of cake-makers the staff at Milton Abbey have a gloriously tough challenge ahead – cakes for cake experts – we will delight in sampling these!

The Flower Festival has been entitled “Summer Time in England” and is open to all WIs or individual members together with members of the public who want to view the displays. Of course the WI were very famous for their flower arrangements when producing the alternative WI calendar – as depicted in the film  and now touring theatre production of “Calendar Girls” - but we can’t promise any photo-opportunities like that!

Vintage Teas are available on Sunday 3rd in the marquee from 10am to 4pm.

This will be a truly beautiful event – the Abbey is always stunning if you haven’t been before and Milton Abbas village is one of the prettiest in Dorset – so if you’re free on Sunday then this offers a wonderful vintage day out!

Vintage Dorset hires beautiful vintage crockery and mis-matched china for  tea parties and special occasions from 2 to 200 guests or more..
