Vintage and Rural Events

We do love a good day out! And there are so many gorgeous places to visit in Dorset and events that are perfect for lovers of old fashioned tradition, classic cars, home-crafts, historic and countryside activities.

If you are thinking about having a day out locally and want something to fit in with a traditional theme then check out the Vintage Dorset Events Calendar. Its a selection of hand-picked favourites that might be particularly suitable for lovers of vintage.

We haven’t included all of the Jubilee Events this Year which are going to be fabulous (check out our article in Dorset Magazine this month) and  we also leave out the country house and garden events – as there are hundreds all over the place – but hopefully you’ll notice something that takes your fancy!

From the 7th June this year you can re-trace the Dorset locations Enid Blyton used for her Famous Five books and follow a mystery yourself! We know its for adults really but the kids will insist on tagging along! Find out more HERE The Ginger Pop Famous Five Treasure Trail .

And towards the end of the summer – of course the Great Dorset Steam Fair is an all time winner! (But lots to squeeze in before then!) Send your vintage event to info@vintagedorset.co.uk if you want us to include it in the calendar.

Dorset Day – 1st May

Where are you going on May Day? We’re jolly well off to Dorset Day at Clayesmore School, Iwerne Minster, Nr Blandford.

When someone mentioned Maypole dancing, dog show and pig racing we realised we couldn’t resist!

For once, we’re not serving teas but are still displaying our gorgeous vintage china, our old fashioned props, vintage gift cards and prints from our vintage gazebo and we’ll be chatting to people about traditions, tea and cake! If you want to pre-book a picnic from us – we’ll bring you one along. Get in touch with us here

The day is set to be a really great day out – last year 2500 people came along!
