Frock market – pictures

Friday was a very cold day in Dorchester but we still saw over 100 people attend the Frock market arranged by WAND in support of the women’s refuge and to help raise funds for the Dorset Women’s day in March next year. Vintage Dorset was there providing vintage teas and networking with all sorts of vintage clothes sellers and local people who are hand-making and sourcing great vintage and retro-styled goodies.

red crochet handbagWe especially like RubyRockCake who has all sorts of retro homewares, gifts and cards and our good chum Maria Clarke was also there selling these gorgeous crocheted handbags and naval bags from as little as £10! Contact me if you want to buy one of Maria’s bags and I’ll try and persuade her to post you one. I’m hoping she’ll open an Etsy store soon as she has some fabulous stuff!

Also, Nicki from The Cherry Closet popped in for a chat and Jenny and Toni from Transition Town Dorchester also came in to snap up some bargain outfits.

Our cakes and teas were a big hit and together with my daughter Rebecca, we had a great day telling people all about our vintage crockery hire, our events, parties and wedding hire. In spite of the cold and threats of snow WAND raised over £200 so well done!

Old Frocks, Christmas Crafts & tea!

A display of Vintage Dorset Cakes

Women’s Action Network Dorset (WAND) are hosting another Frock Market together with a Christmas Crafts Fair on 26th November at the Corn Exchange. Vintage Dorset will be there to show off our vintage crockery hire but even more importantly – to provide tea and cakes for the day. Vintage tea, cakes and shopping – what more can an old fashioned girl ask for?

There will be a raffle (of course!) and lots of Christmas crafts as well as an opportunity to bring along that dress that is just a bit too tight and swap it for someone else’s! I will definitely be on the lookout for a vintage frock for Christmas parties!
