A Dorset Vintage Wedding

One of the joys of vintage and country weddings is that they lend themselves so beautifully to couples who have their own creative style and the imagination to create a bespoke event.

A Country wedding in Dorset

With a wonderfully relaxed cottage holiday atmosphere, delicious bring and share food from all of the 80-or-so guests, home-made trimmings, herb festooned table-centres and loads of vintage china from Vintage Dorset, DIY weddings don’t come much better than this!

Cakes

The fabulous celebration of Rowan and Baris was held at Greenwood Grange cottages in Dorchester and caught on film beautifully by the fabulous, quirky photographer Andrea Ellison.

The celebration itself was a lovely informal hand-fastening culminating with a rousing sing-song where all of the guests sang the Proclaimers “I’m Gonna Be” (500 miles) before the eating began. Rowan looked fabulous in a bright red swing dress and Baris turned out sharp as a new pin!

wedding celebration vintage dorsetWe often get asked how DIY weddings work – when families want to take part in creating the Wedding Feast – making puddings, pavlovas and other delectable treats? This wedding is a great example! ALL of the food for this wedding was brought by the guests and popped onto vintage plates and platters – we didn’t know what was going to happen – but when it did it was AMAZING! Vintage Dorset served tea, wine and kept everything neat and tidy . For the full story check out photographer Andrea’s Blog
